NHRC Seeks Probe of Senator Fadahunsi Over Viral ‘Kill Accord With Votes’ Remark
The National Human Rights Commission has called for the suspension, arrest and investigation of Senator Francis Fadahunsi over a viral video in which he was accused of threatening members of the Accord Party. In the video recorded in Ilesa, Fadahunsi reportedly used the word “killing” while addressing supporters, sparking concerns about intimidation and election-related violence. The Osun State Police Command invited the senator for questioning, and he reportedly appeared before officers in Osogbo. Fadahunsi said his remarks were not a call for physical violence, explaining that he meant the Accord Party should be defeated with votes. The incident has renewed calls for political leaders and parties to avoid inflammatory language and protect voters’ right to participate freely and safely in the election.
