Suspected Boko Haram Kill 20 in Borno-Adamawa Border Raids
Suspected Boko Haram militants stormed Pubagu in Askira Uba LGA, Borno State, and Mayo-Ladde in Hong LGA, Adamawa State around 4 p.m. on Tuesday. They overpowered local hunters and vigilantes before opening fire on residents. Eleven people died in Pubagu and nine in Mayo-Ladde. Eyewitnesses said attackers arrived on motorcycles and operated for over an hour. They shot sporadically, burned homes and shops, and looted property. Local security forces were outgunned and fled under heavy fire. The local government chairman confirmed the total of 20 fatalities and visited the scene with army personnel. This incident follows an earlier attack in the same region on April 16, when Boko Haram killed four soldiers and one civilian.
