Kogi Police Rescue Passenger, Arrest Seven Suspects After Ayere–Kabba Road Kidnapping

Security operatives rescued one passenger and arrested seven suspects after gunmen ambushed a Chisco Transport bus on the Ayere–Kabba Road of Kogi State last Sunday. A police spokesperson in Lokoja said the vehicle, en route from Lagos to Abuja, came under attack at around 8:30pm on April 13. Officers recovered the bus and freed a 56-year-old man. Joint teams from the police, military and other agencies are conducting bush-combing operations to rescue remaining hostages. Families of victims are asked to visit the SCID Anti-Kidnapping Unit in Lokoja for identification. Residents with information can call 07038329084 or 08152195982; all tips will be treated confidentially.
