PRP Faction Seeks Court Order to Remove Donald Duke and Baba-Ahmed
A faction of the Peoples Redemption Party, known as the Akida-Left Faction, has filed a suit at the Federal High Court challenging Donald Duke’s presidential candidacy and Hakeem Baba-Ahmed’s recognition as national chairman. The suit asks the court to direct INEC to remove Duke and Baba-Ahmed from its records. The faction wants Dr. Salih recognised as the party’s presidential candidate and Abdulmajid Yakubu Daudu recognised as national chairman. The case adds to the PRP’s ongoing leadership and candidate-selection dispute ahead of the 2027 general elections. An earlier case challenging Duke’s nomination was dismissed in September after the court ruled it was filed outside the deadline for pre-election matters.
