ICPC Probe: Tinubu Orders Arrest, Suspends Officials Over Alleged Fake Agencies

The ICPC has reportedly uncovered two more organisations alleged to have operated as government agencies without the required presidential approval. One of them, the National Brands Development and Made-in-Nigeria Special Project Office, was allegedly operating within the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation. President Bola Tinubu has reportedly ordered the arrest of its alleged promoter, Prince George Buchi Nwabueze, and suspended three Permanent Secretaries pending investigation. Another body, described as the Foreign Investment Promotion Agency and Public-Private Partnership, has also reportedly emerged in the wider investigation. Beyond identifying those involved, the key question is how allegedly unauthorised agencies gained access, recognition and space within the federal government system.
