Gunmen Abduct 60-Year-Old in Oyo State, Demand N30M Ransom

Gunmen believed to be kidnappers seized 60-year-old Matthew Kolawole on Saturday evening in Igboyaye, Itesiwaju LGA, Oyo State. They called his family soon after and demanded N30 million for his release. His son, Owoade Abiola, said the incident occurred between 5 and 6 p.m. Security agencies, including the Nigeria Police Force, the Amotekun Corps and local vigilante groups, were alerted immediately. A joint search operation ran through the night. At about 8:20 a.m. the next day, the team found the victim’s abandoned motorcycle in a nearby bush, raising fresh fears for his safety. The family is appealing to the police and other security agencies to intensify efforts to secure his safe release and bring the kidnappers to justice.
