Delta Crash Kills Two Army Soldiers, Driver Tests Positive for Cocaine
Two soldiers of the 63 Brigade in Delta State died in a motorcycle crash on May 30 in Oshimili South Local Government Area. Preliminary reports indicate their motorcycle was struck by a vehicle on 74 Road. The victims were rushed to the 63 Brigade Medical Centre but were confirmed dead on arrival. Security personnel arrested the vehicle’s driver and conducted a drug test. He tested positive for cannabis and cocaine and has been handed over to the 63 Provost Company for further investigation. The remains of the soldiers are at the Asaba Specialist Hospital morgue, and authorities are probing the circumstances that led to the collision.
