Ernest Bai Koroma Returns to Sierra Leone After Two Years in Nigeria
1 / 4
This morning, I saw off former Sierra Leonean President Ernest Bai Koroma as he began his journey back home to Freetown. Nigeria was his home away from home for more than two years. I am grateful that we could offer him friendship, support and solidarity during that period. Working quietly with others, we encouraged dialogue with the Sierra Leonean authorities to create conditions for his safe and dignified return. I wish him peace of mind and hope that his return strengthens reconciliation in Sierra Leone.
