Wike, Okpebholo and Uba Sani Named for 2026 Democracy Heroes Awards

FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, Edo State Governor Monday Okpebholo and Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani are among Nigerians selected for honours at the 15th Democracy Heroes Award Africa. The ceremony is scheduled for October 9, 2026, at the Transcorp Hilton in Abuja. Wike is set to receive the Best Performing Minister of the Year award, while Okpebholo, Uba Sani and other recipients will be recognised for governance and development efforts. Organisers say the annual awards celebrate political leaders, entrepreneurs, entertainers and civil society actors whose work supports democratic development, job creation and social progress.
