Apapa Customs Collects ₦302.95bn in October, Seizes 392.5kg of Cannabis
The Nigeria Customs Service’s Apapa Area Command collected ₦302.95 billion in October 2026, up ₦20.16 billion—or about 7.13 per cent—from September. The command said the result was its second collection above ₦300 billion this year, after recording more than ₦323 billion in July. The command also reported seizing 437 sachets of cannabis weighing a total of 392.5kg in two containers. The consignments had a combined duty-paid value of ₦196.13 million and were examined with other agencies. The new Customs Area Controller, Comptroller Murtala Mu’azu, said the command is working to reduce cargo-clearance delays, streamline Transire processing and ensure inspections follow established procedures. He also warned officers against unnecessary or repetitive checks that could hinder legitimate trade.
