Ogun Man Arrested Over Alleged Sexual Assault of 22-Year-Old Woman
The Ogun State Community, Social Orientation and Safety Corps, known as So-Safe Corps, says it has arrested a 29-year-old man over the alleged sexual assault of a 22-year-old woman in Ota. Officials said the woman had reportedly been declared missing by her family before she was found with the suspect on October 3. The suspect allegedly told officers that he met her while she was distressed, took her to his residence and bought her food. He is accused of forcing himself on the woman after she declined sex. Her father also asked investigators to look into her disappearance, including an allegation that she left home with five mobile phones and about ₦17,000. The case has been transferred to the Nigeria Police Force in Owode-Yewa for further investigation. The allegations remain subject to due process.
