Pregnant Woman and Seven Others Rescued from Captivity in Kaduna
Eight people, including a pregnant woman, have been rescued from bandits in Kaduna State after weeks in captivity. The victims were freed in coordinated security operations carried out between October 31 and November 2, 2026. They include 27-year-old Jamila Muhammad, who was abducted during an attack on Alrahus Estate in Millennium City on October 6, and seven other residents, including an eight-year-old child. The Kaduna State Commissioner of Police said the operations involved the police, DSS, military and the Office of the National Security Adviser. Jamila was kidnapped alongside Ahmad Zakka, his wife and their six-month-old daughter; Zakka and his family were rescued on October 15. The commissioner urged residents and community leaders to share credible information with security agencies. He also asked media organisations to avoid circulating unverified details that could compromise operations or cause unnecessary alarm.
