Pastor Arrested for Luring 16-Year-Old with ‘Spiritual Cleansing’ and Raping Her Twice
Operatives of the Nasarawa State Police Command have arrested 37-year-old Pastor Asonye Isaiah for allegedly defiling a 16-year-old girl under the guise of a spiritual cleansing ritual. Isaiah reportedly convinced the victim’s aunt that the teenager was possessed and needed a river ceremony. He then took her to a hotel in New Karshi and raped her twice, threatening to kill her if she spoke out. A medical examination confirmed penile penetration. During questioning, the pastor confessed and pleaded for leniency. The Commissioner of Police has ordered the case to be moved to the State Criminal Investigation Department in Lafia for thorough investigation and prompt prosecution.
