DSS Reportedly Arrests Four Over Alleged Diversion of Taraba Relief Materials
The DSS in Taraba State has reportedly arrested a warehouse owner and three others after humanitarian supplies meant for vulnerable residents were allegedly found in a private warehouse in Sintali Ward, Jalingo. The supplies, donated by the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre, reportedly included rice, beans and other essentials intended for disaster victims and low-income households. A video from the scene showed bags marked “Not for Sale” being removed from the warehouse. The reported arrests follow earlier allegations involving Taraba’s emergency management agency and the handling of relief materials. The agency’s executive secretary has denied previous allegations of diversion and called for an investigation. The materials were officially earmarked for residents affected by floods, fires, windstorms and economic hardship across Taraba State.
