Plateau Youth Coalition Defends DSS, Alleges Campaign to Disrupt Security Operations
A coalition of indigenous youth organisations in Plateau State has defended the DSS, Mobile Police Force and Operation Rainbow against petitions and online claims alleging bias and misconduct. At a press briefing in Abuja, the coalition alleged that the complaints were intended to weaken ongoing operations against armed groups in Plateau. It urged the Federal Government to sustain the operations while independently investigating all allegations against security personnel. The group also alleged that recent attacks in Barkin Ladi, Bokkos, Riyom and Mangu involved ambushes on security operatives. The allegations have not been independently verified, and the organisations named in the petition were not represented in the coalition's statement.
