Gunmen Kill Monarch in Onicha Community
Gunmen attacked the palace of Ishinkwor community on Wednesday night, April 1, killing HRH Jehoshaphat Ikegwu. Reports say the assailants shot the monarch through a palace window. The Onicha LGA chairman, Ikechukwu Ogbofia, confirmed the incident and urged residents to remain calm as police investigate. Ikegwu’s death is the fifth killing of a traditional ruler in Ebonyi State. Last month, kidnappers abducted and killed the Ndufu-Alike monarch, burning his body. Nine suspects have been arrested in that case.
