Army Arrests Two Soldiers Over Alleged Ammunition Sale in Zamfara

The Nigerian Army has arrested two soldiers accused of attempting to sell 60 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition to a suspected civilian buyer in Zamfara State. The suspects, attached to Operation Fansan Yamma headquarters and 223 Battalion, were arrested on Wednesday. Troops reportedly recovered mobile phones, empty magazines, a motorcycle and other items. They have been handed to the 1 Brigade Provost Company for investigation. In a separate operation along the Abuja-Kaduna corridor, troops engaged suspected terrorists and recovered an AK-47 rifle, a loaded magazine and military-related items. The Army also reported an illegal bunkering raid in Akwa Ibom and a response to an attack on commuters in Plateau State.
