South Africa’s Romanda Hombir Named Miss World Africa 2026 as Nigeria Reaches Top 12
South Africa’s Romanda Hombir has been crowned Miss World Africa 2026 after reaching the Top 6 at the 73rd Miss World finale in Nha Trang, Vietnam. The global title went to Joheirry Mola of the Dominican Republic. Hombir, a clinical audiologist and community health advocate from Mpumalanga, progressed from the Top 40 to the Top 20, Top 12 and final six. Her placement is South Africa’s highest at Miss World since 2014. Her advocacy project supports mobile health screenings and women’s healthcare awareness in underserved communities. Eritrea’s Snit Habteab Tewoldemedhin also made the Top 6 in her country’s first Miss World appearance. Nigeria’s Tamunosoye Karibi-George won the Miss World Africa Top Model award and finished among the Top 12 finalists. The results gave Africa a strong showing at this year’s pageant, with finalists using the global stage to promote health, education and inclusion initiatives.
