Protesters Block Makurdi Road During Peter Obi’s Benue Condolence Visit
Some youths reportedly blocked a section of Gboko Road in Makurdi as Peter Obi arrived in Benue State to condole with families affected by recent attacks. The blockage near the Air Force base and airport reportedly disrupted traffic for a time. The protesters were heard chanting that they did not want Obi in the state. Obi alleged that they were led by a special adviser to Governor Hyacinth Alia and said he waited in the hope that they would reconsider.
