Music executive Don Jazzy says he spent his first major earnings from music on partying and other frivolities rather than investments. Speaking on the On The Grind podcast, the Mavin Records founder said he later changed his approach and began investing in artistes, record labels and other businesses. He said those decisions gave him financial independence. Don Jazzy advised young people to invest part of their income in profitable ventures instead of spending everything as soon as they start earning.
