Wike Says His Job Is to Keep Atiku and Obi Under Political Pressure

FCT Minister Nyesom Wike says he will continue putting political pressure on Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi, insisting that he has no reason to make opposition figures comfortable. Speaking in Abuja on Friday, Wike said Nigeria currently lacks a formidable opposition party. He argued that the PDP, which should ordinarily lead the opposition, has been weakened by its internal crisis. Wike said his political objective is to defeat opponents thoroughly, adding that he would intensify the pressure if he knew how Atiku and Obi were reacting. The PDP member has continued to campaign for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election while criticising both opposition figures.
