Donald Duke Alleges Some Politicians Resort to Human Sacrifice Ahead of 2027 Elections
PRP presidential candidate Donald Duke has alleged that some desperate politicians are resorting to human sacrifice in their bid to win the 2027 general elections. Speaking in Abuja during a visit by the Savannah Centre for Democracy, Diplomacy and Development, Duke called for reforms to make INEC’s leadership and officials truly independent of political influence. He also demanded tougher punishment for electoral violence and other offences. Duke said the pursuit of political power had become dangerously desperate, warning that elections could trigger a wider crisis if politicians continue to treat contests as matters of life and death. Former Chief Justice Olukayode Ariwoola urged candidates to reject hate speech, vote buying, thuggery, rigging and other actions that could fuel violence.
