Man Convicted of Filming Gym Users in Changing Cubicles

A 45-year-old man was convicted after secretly recording gym users while they changed in cubicles in Wythenshawe, Manchester. Investigators found 19 voyeuristic videos involving 13 victims, including women, a man and a child. A gym employee noticed a phone being withdrawn from an adjoining cubicle and confronted him. Police later examined the phone and found a deleted video of a woman getting dressed, along with other recordings. He admitted making the recordings but claimed he acted out of curiosity. The court imposed a suspended prison sentence, 100 hours of unpaid work, rehabilitation requirements and a 10-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order. He must also remain on the sex offenders register for 10 years.
