Kwankwaso Vows to Secure NDC Vice-Presidential Ticket and Pave Way for Kano Presidency — 1 of 2

Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso says he’s confident of winning the NDC vice-presidential slot, which he believes will finally allow Kano to produce Nigeria’s president. He made the remarks during a weekend radio interview. Highlighting that Kano has never produced a vice president since the First Republic, Kwankwaso called it “deeply saddening” and said securing the ticket would set the stage for a future presidency from his state. He and Peter Obi recently joined the NDC on a pact to contest 2027 on a joint ticket, with Obi as presidential candidate and Kwankwaso as running mate. He argued this arrangement could shape power rotation and avoid regrettable decisions in the North-West.
