Israeli Ambassador to Nigeria Michael Freeman says he wants Nigeria to become Africa’s food basket, an innovation hub and a medical destination where citizens no longer need to travel abroad for treatment. Speaking on an ARISE News programme, Freeman said Nigeria and Israel could expand cooperation in agriculture, healthcare, education and technology. He proposed joint research, startup partnerships and the use of Israeli agricultural tools and seedlings to improve food security and create jobs. He also said Israel hopes to train more Nigerian doctors and support local healthcare capacity. Freeman cited innovation fellowship and artificial-intelligence initiatives, arguing that technology can help create jobs and ensure African perspectives are represented in AI development.
