Delta Police Neutralise Kidnapper, Recover AK-47 and Charms in Forest Raid
Operatives of the Delta State Police Anti-Kidnapping Unit shot dead a suspected kidnapper during a gun battle in the Ubulu-Okiti forest. The early-morning operation on May 18 involved local security volunteers after intelligence linked the syndicate to recent abductions in Ubulu-Uku and neighbouring communities. When officers arrived at the hideout, suspects opened fire. The team returned fire, injuring one suspect who later died at a nearby hospital. Other suspects fled into the forest with gunshot wounds. Authorities recovered an AK-47 rifle loaded with five rounds and several items believed to be criminal charms. Police have launched a manhunt to apprehend the fleeing suspects and recover additional exhibits. Residents are urged to remain vigilant and share credible information to help secure lives and property across Delta State.
