Wike Sets January Deadline for Key Abuja Road Projects, Warns Against Delays
FCT Minister Nyesom Wike says the Abuja administration will maintain pressure on contractors to deliver major road projects before January. He spoke after inspecting the Apo-Karshi and Bwari-Kubwa roads. Wike said the Apo-Karshi Road, first awarded in 2010 and long delayed, is now progressing, with streetlight installation underway. He also insisted that the Bwari-Kubwa Road contractor must keep to the agreed completion date despite the terrain. The minister said the FCT Administration would release funds promptly and continue inspections of other projects. He added that authorities would investigate and curb illegal street racing on newly completed roads, especially in residential areas.
