Inibehe Effiong Calls Ibom Seaport Approval ‘Fraudulent’ and Condemns Tinubu Campaign Visit
I have cut short my break from social media to condemn what I see as political deceit by President Bola Tinubu and Akwa Ibom Governor Umo Eno. Tinubu announced on November 6, 2026, that he had approved the establishment of the Ibom Deep-Seaport. I call the announcement fraudulent, arguing that successive administrations have made similar claims without delivering a visible seaport, while state resources have been spent in its name. I also condemn Governor Eno’s decision to shut down state activities for what I describe as a partisan campaign visit. I question whether civil servants would receive the same treatment for campaign events held by other political parties. A vehicle reportedly carrying women to the airport to welcome Tinubu was involved in an accident, with a reported loss of life. I say Akwa Ibom residents should not be treated as slaves and argue that Tinubu’s policies have harmed Nigerians, including people in the state.
