The Lagos State Government has issued 2,000 Cowry Cards to police officers, granting them unlimited free travel for three months on selected public transport services. The cards can be used on the Blue and Red Line rail services, BRT buses and electric water boats. After the free period, the state has proposed a permanent 50% fare discount for police officers. The initiative is intended to support police welfare and recognise officers’ role in maintaining public safety across Lagos.
