Bandits Raid Sokoto Village, Kidnap Nine and Injure Two

Gunmen struck Chacho community in Wurno Local Government Area of Sokoto State around 11:00 pm on April 2. They gained access through a forest route linked to the notorious Sabon Birni hideout. A relative of one victim, speaking anonymously, said seven women and two elderly men were taken hostage during the attack. Two other residents were wounded and are now receiving medical care. Locals blamed the rising banditry on the lack of security presence. Police spokesperson Ahmad Rufai confirmed the incident and said authorities are working to verify the number of abductees.
