2027: Wike Says He Will Keep Opposition Under Pressure

FCT Minister Nyesom Wike says he is prepared to put the opposition under sustained pressure ahead of the 2027 general election. Speaking during an inspection of infrastructure projects in Abuja on August 21, Wike argued that there is currently no clearly organised leading opposition party. He said the PDP’s internal crisis had weakened its position. Wike dismissed concerns about opposition reactions, saying his political approach is to make things difficult for rivals rather than help them gain strength.
