LaMelo Ball’s Partner Ana Montana Faces Felony Drug-Fraud Charges

Ana Montana, the partner of NBA player LaMelo Ball, has been arrested in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina, over allegations involving alprazolam prescriptions. Montana, whose legal name is Analicia Chaves, faces two felony counts of obtaining a controlled substance by fraud or forgery. She also faces two misdemeanour counts of possessing a Schedule IV controlled substance. She was released on a $20,000 bond linked to the felony charges. Authorities allege that the prescriptions used to obtain the medication contained a doctor’s stolen DEA registration and medical-provider identification details. Her lawyer said the allegations centre on a doctor who allegedly used fraudulent credentials to prescribe the medication, which Montana then collected from a pharmacy. The case remains at the allegation stage, and Montana has not been convicted of any offence.
