Makinde Questions Whether Higher FAAC Allocations Are Reducing Hunger
Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde has questioned whether increased Federation Account allocations to states are translating into meaningful action against hunger. He said states may be receiving more money, but argued that the funds have not yet produced enough improvement in the lives of ordinary Nigerians. Makinde also said Oyo State’s dependence on FAAC fell after he took office in 2019 but later rose again following the removal of fuel subsidy.
