55-Year-Old Man Arraigned for Forcefully Reclaiming Two-Acre Epe Land
A 55-year-old man, Ayotunde Atiroko, appeared before an Igbosere Magistrate’s Court in Lagos over allegations that he reclaimed a two-acre plot in Epe which he sold years earlier. The buyer, Adepeju Arinto, told police that when she began developing the land in June 2026, hoodlums armed with dangerous weapons had demolished her perimeter fence and replaced it with a new one. They warned her to stay away and threatened violence if she returned. After petitioning the Zone 2 Police Command, detectives tracked Atiroko to his hideout and arrested him. He was arraigned on four counts including forcible entry, encroachment, and conduct likely to breach the peace under the Criminal Law of Lagos State. The defendant pleaded not guilty and was remanded at Ikoyi Correctional Centre. Magistrate T.A. Abayomi granted him bail of ₦150,000 with two sureties.
