Bauchi Man Arrested Over Alleged Death of Four-Month-Old Daughter

Police in Bauchi State have arrested a 27-year-old man over the alleged strangulation of his four-month-old daughter in Zirami, Azare. The child’s mother reportedly took her lifeless body to the Azare Divisional Police Headquarters on Thursday night after returning home from a neighbour’s house. She said the baby had been left sleeping and alleged that she found her husband acting suspiciously near the room. Police said a doctor at the General Hospital confirmed the child’s death and attributed it to strangulation. The mother also alleged that the suspect had made earlier attempts to harm the child. The case is under preliminary investigation.
