Peter Obi Must Guard Himself; No Real Consequences If He’s Shot, Warns Fapohunda
I’m reacting to the recent attack on Peter Obi by thugs in Benin. Comparing it to Robert Kennedy’s shooting shows how political violence is often treated as business as usual. I criticize the Edo State governor’s leadership. He acts with a village mentality and follows the bidding of powerful backers. Once you hold state power in this country, might is right. Past attacks on public figures ended with empty promises. Bola Ige, Harry Marshall, and even sitting officials were shot, yet no one resigned. If Obi is harmed, we will hear condemnations and then move on. My advice is simple. Peter Obi must protect himself. In Nigeria, life is cheap and no one faces real justice when power is involved.
