Nura Abdullahi, chairman of Bungudu Local Government Area in Zamfara State, has regained his freedom after 61 days in captivity. Family sources said he was released alongside other people abducted during the attack on his residence in Bungudu town on July 25, 2026. The circumstances of their release have not been disclosed. The Zamfara State Police Command has yet to issue an official statement on the development.
