Osun Police Arrest Woman After Vigilante Member Dies Following Encounter in Ile-Ife

Osun State Police Command has arrested a woman after a vigilante member, identified as Sunday and known as Apetu, died shortly after an encounter with her in Ile-Ife. The incident reportedly happened at about 2:30 p.m. on Sunday in the Odi-Olokun area. A security situation report stated that the man was found in severe distress and later died. His body was taken to the Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospitals Complex morgue. Some residents linked the death to a traditional “thunderbolt” claim. However, authorities have not established the cause of death, and there is no medical or scientific confirmation for the claim. Police investigations are ongoing.
