Ten Dead, Six Injured as Bus Collides with Truck on Lagos–Ibadan Expressway
The FRSC has confirmed that 10 people were killed and six others injured after a passenger bus slammed into a truck on the Lagos–Ibadan Expressway late Sunday. The crash occurred around 8:05 p.m. near Sapade Bridge in Remo North LGA of Ogun State. A Toyota Hiace carrying 18 passengers hit a Sinotruk truck that allegedly reversed on the highway after missing its route. Preliminary investigations cite speeding, wrongful overtaking and dangerous driving. Nine adult men and one boy died, while four men and two women were taken to Victory Hospital in Ogere. Two other male passengers escaped unhurt. Ogun Sector Commander Corps Commander Oludare Ogunjobi extended condolences to the bereaved families and urged all motorists to obey traffic regulations, avoid reversing on highways and use proper turning points to prevent such tragedies.
