Harrowing Case: Toddler Found Dead After Eating Drywall and Nappies
A two-year-old boy was discovered dead in his Indiana home weighing just 15 pounds, around half the normal weight for his age. Police say the child’s body was covered in sores and bug bites, and he had been forced to eat drywall, paint chips and soiled nappies to stay alive. When officers executed a search warrant, they encountered human waste and nappies scattered across the floor. In one bedroom, they found debris and a training toilet left uncleaned for days. An autopsy revealed pieces of drywall, paint and nappy material in the child’s digestive system. His parents, Trevor Reichard-Hayes and Katherine Carter, have been charged with murder and various counts of child neglect resulting in death and serious injury. Investigators ask for public support and prayers as the case remains under active review.
