Suspected Motorcycle Snatchers Kill NSCDC Officer in Karshi, Abuja

A Deputy Superintendent of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Maiwada Abubakar Santali, has died after an alleged attack by suspected motorcycle snatchers in Karshi, Abuja. Santali, who was attached to the Federal Capital Development Administration, reportedly returned home from work on Monday and later left to meet friends at a popular gathering spot near Government Secondary School, Karshi. A relative said he was attacked shortly after arriving at the location. The assailants allegedly struck him repeatedly on the head and fled with his motorcycle. Commercial motorcyclists nearby reportedly responded to his cries and took him to Karshi General Hospital. He was later referred to the National Hospital, Abuja, where he died the following day. He was buried in line with Islamic rites.
