Bandits Burn Family Home in Zamfara, Killing 12 and Kidnapping Residents
Twelve members of one family were killed after bandits reportedly set fire to a building where they had taken refuge in Gidan Taba village, Maradun Local Government Area of Zamfara State. The attack occurred early Saturday, November 7, 2026, in the Dosara Birnin Kaya Ward area. Residents also reported that an unspecified number of people were kidnapped during the raid. A resident said the victims belonged to the family of Mallam Muhammadu Sani. The family had reportedly gathered in one room and locked the door in an attempt to avoid being abducted. The attackers allegedly ordered them to open it, then set the building ablaze when they refused. The 12 family members were buried according to Islamic rites on Sunday morning. The number of residents abducted during the attack had not been confirmed.
