Viral Video Captures Prom Night Laughter Hours Before Fatal Shooting
A 20-year-old man was arrested after his prom date, 18-year-old Ra’Mya Silvan, died from multiple gunshot wounds on May 24 in the Hollygrove area. Silvan, a recent Warren Easton Charter High School graduate, was pronounced dead at the scene. School officials described her as bright and talented, and her loss deeply affected the community. Police say Daniel Victor Romero visited Silvan’s home to return her iPad, and an argument ensued. Neighbors heard gunshots, found spent casings, and saw Romero’s vehicle leaving the scene. Romero faces a second-degree murder charge and potential life in prison. A video of the couple playing around at prom that night is now circulating online.
