Ogun Police Arrest Suspect Over Alleged ₦2.5m Online Sales Fraud
Ogun State Police Command has arrested a 45-year-old man over an alleged ₦2.5 million online sales fraud involving a deep-freezer dealer. Police said the complainant paid money into an account after responding to an online advert for goods intended for resale. The goods were allegedly not delivered, and the seller reportedly stopped responding to her messages. Detectives traced the suspect to Ojo, Lagos, where officers reportedly recovered 25 ATM cards, 25 mobile phones and 16 SIM cards. The case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department in Abeokuta for further investigation. Residents have been advised to verify online sellers before making payments and to keep transaction receipts, account details and messages when reporting suspected fraud.
