NDLEA Seizes Over 2.3 Tonnes of Drugs, Intercepts UK-Bound Colorado Shipments

The NDLEA says it recovered more than 2.3 tonnes of illicit drugs and arrested several suspects during coordinated operations across Lagos, Delta, Kano, Plateau, Edo, Ondo, Kaduna and Bayelsa states. At Lagos airport, operatives intercepted 32.2kg of synthetic cannabis, known as Colorado or Colos, in a consignment from the United Kingdom. Other operations uncovered Colorado hidden in music speakers and parcels allegedly meant for destinations including Kano, Côte d’Ivoire and Liberia. Major seizures included 669.425kg of pregabalin capsules in Kano, 876kg of cannabis in Bayelsa, 369.6kg of cannabis in Kaduna and 186kg of skunk in Ondo. Operatives also destroyed 4,832.56kg of cannabis recovered from farms in Edo State.
