Kano APC Leaders Seek Probe of Albasu Chairman, Lawmaker Over Alleged Anti-Party Activities
APC leaders in Albasu Local Government Area of Kano State have petitioned the party’s state leadership over allegations of anti-party activities against council chairman Garba Aliyu Hungu and state lawmaker Musa Tahir Hungu. The petitioners alleged that the two officials and some local party figures supported Kasim Ibrahim Bataiya, the NDC candidate for Kano South Senate, instead of APC candidate Senator Kawu Sumaila. They also alleged that government empowerment benefits meant for APC supporters were diverted and that the council town hall was used for an NDC campaign event. The petition, said to have been signed by more than 300 local party officials, asked the APC to investigate the claims and allow both officials to respond before any disciplinary action is taken. Efforts to obtain responses from the two officials were unsuccessful.
