Works Minister Umahi Confirms Mary Habila’s Death at His Uburu Residence, Calls for Autopsy

Nigeria’s Minister of Works, David Umahi, has confirmed that Mary Habila, a physiotherapist seconded to his household, died at his residence in Uburu, Ebonyi State. He described her passing as “unfortunate” and said he received the news with profound shock and sadness. In a statement, Umahi said that medical personnel and the police were alerted immediately after the incident. He met with Habila’s parents, offered his condolences and urged them to consent to an autopsy to determine the cause of death. The family initially declined but the minister has renewed his appeal.
