Sacked Ukrainian Defence Minister Warns Kyiv Must Change Course to Avoid Defeat
Former Ukrainian Defence Minister Mykhailo Fedorov has warned that Ukraine is gradually losing ground in its war with Russia and has only a few months to make decisions that could change the course of the conflict. Fedorov said Ukraine lacks a clear strategy for victory and is being weakened by corruption, patronage networks and inefficient institutions. He called for a coordinated push to develop AI-guided drones, low-cost missile interceptors, electronic surveillance systems and a domestic ballistic missile programme. He also said Ukraine should intensify strikes on Russian military logistics and occupied Crimea before Moscow adapts. The presidential office dismissed his criticism, saying his position changed after leaving government, while President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has raised concerns over a major defence-budget gap.
