Imo Begins Digital Bus Stop Project With Free Wi-Fi Across 27 LGAs
The Imo State Government has begun building digital bus stops across the state’s 27 local government areas. The facilities are expected to provide designated pick-up and drop-off points for commuters, alongside free Wi-Fi access. Work is ongoing at the Government House Roundabout in Owerri and along major corridors including Onitsha Road, Orlu Road, Okigwe Road, Mbaise Road and Egbu Road. Multiple bus stops are planned for each local government area. The project is expected to help reduce roadside stopping, improve traffic flow and give residents internet access while they wait for public transport. Its impact will depend on the quality of the completed facilities and the reliability of the promised Wi-Fi service.
