I do not think VDM’s invitation and presence at the Nigerian Bar Association’s annual conference in Port Harcourt was out of place. Despite the criticism, I believe his activism and the conversations around his Ratel movement have earned him a place in major public discussions. Nigeria would be different without voices like his. The backlash shows how divided opinions remain about VDM’s role in public life and advocacy.
